Our Beautiful One Year Old

Christmas 2011 was great. We stayed at mom's like we normally do and opened gifts and had dinner there. It was nice to see Jimmy be so thankful for his gifts. After every gift he said "Thank you whomever" Jessica was into opening gifts too. Jimmy had to tell her a couple of times they were his gifts and tell her "no Jessica." His big gift was his Thomas table. When he saw it he dropped the movie he had and ran to play with it. It was great, although he first saw the box and then the table. It was a great Christmas!

Jesus and Christmas
James was looking at the tree we decorated on Sunday. I told him we need to put the presents under the tree. He then pointed to an ornament and said "like this" I replied yes. I then told him the most important present is Jesus and that is why we celebrate Christmas. He then asked when Jesus was coming, I told him he is always with us. He then looked around for Jesus. It was the most wonderful most touching moment.
Read a book
At bedtime we always read to James and Jessica as a part of our routine. Tonight James wanted to read to us, so he read "It looked like split milk" He has read the book so many tmes that he can read it to me. This was wonderful!

Counting
Last night I was reading James a Caliou counting book that counted up to 12. He was able to countup to 12 as I pointed to the objects. This morning Jessica sat up by herself for about 15 minutes before reaching for a toy and falling over.
