Standing
I'm still standing, I'm still standing. I think of that Christian song!!! Today James was trying to get up into our ofice again by climbing up the stairs. About a minute before he went over to the stairs I close the door (therefore he can only go up one stair). Well he then decided that he was going to stand and try to open the door. ANDDDDDDDD he did it. I was like "Oh no he didn't." It is wonderful to see how much he is growing and maturing.

Juice
Today, James had juice for the first time. It was apple juice. We went to BJ's to get diapers and other things for him along with some juice. Afterwards we went to IHOP. While at IHOP, I gave him some juice in a cup. He really didn't take to it, so I offered it to him with a nipple. He still did not take to it. James then allowed him to just drink the juice out of the cup like adults. He did. We then put the lid back on and he slowly tried. It is a slow process, but we are starting it.
Book
So, I finished my first novel since having a child. It was The Associate by John Grisham. I finished it Saturday afternoon and it felt so good to just read for pleasure instead of reading to my students or to James.

Tooth
Finally, after the most cranky night today I felt his mouth and there was the beginning of a tooth. James was home with his father today and James thought he saw a tooth (the area was a little more white than it should have been ). So, I felt for it and there is was.

Real Food
I am trying to get James to eat more "real" food because the choices are very limited for Stage 3 foods. Another reason is because when I gave him Stage 3 Turkey and vegetables he ate it one day and spit it out the next. So, needless to say tonight for dinner he had sweet potatoes, a little chicken, spinach and of course his baby food vegetables. I purreed everything seperately first (except the chicken I broke into pieces). He did very well. I was happy. Then we got ready to go to bible study.

Dancing Baby
Tonight we were at the Mercer's celebrating my mom's and Kayla's birthdays. Well baby Jae (Nene's son) and James were on the table dancing. I stood up to make James smile and dance and next thing you know both babies were dancing on the table. It was the cutiest thing ever. Seeing both babies communicating was wonderful. I cannot wait to see them grow up.

Flu Shot
James had his second flu shot this afternoon. He was such a big boy. He cried for a second then stopped. I guess he thought "well it's not that bad, I'm a big boy!!!"

Bath time OH NO
James is getting a bath and I'm sitting there watching him. Well he likes to lean forward and eat his toes. So, I look at him doing this and think to myself stop because you might drink some water (as I normally do). So I pull him back; well all of a sudden he starts coughing. I yell help to James (he thought I was being dramatic again). I immediately pull him out of the tub and pat his back and raise his arms. He coughs of course and then spits up. And then spits up again all over ME TWICE!!! Not on himself who is naked, ME. I love him so much. He then got back in the bath with his father while I put my clothes in the wash. I'm so glad he was not traumatized and did not mind getting back in the bath.
Here is a recent picture of him in the bath. He is playing with the new bath toy my mom gave him. Thanks MOM-MOM

Shower, Oh my
Today we had a shower for Val at my house. There were so many people, I was thinking "please stop coming" (probably around 40). James was upstairs with his father for part of it. When he came down he was looking like what are all these people doing here.

Food and Basketball
Tonight for dinner, I gave James some of our dinner (hamburger helper and broccoli and cauliflower). I made the pieces really small, and of course he ate them. I think he then wanted his stage 2 foods, so I made a bowl of his corn and sweet potatoes and pears and raspberries.
Later in the evening it was so cute. James and James were playing in James' room. Matter of fact we were all in there because I was folding laundry. I videotaped James and his son playing with a small basketball. James Jr. would get the ball from his dad and place it over his head then he would hand it back to his dad. It wa so adorable I videotaped some of the best moments.

First Movie
Tonight was James' first trip to the movies. In weather with a wind chill of 6 degrees we (James, Mom, James, James III, James Jr, Marilyn, Imani and I) all went to go see Princess and The Frog the first black princess movie. It was cute. He was good as usual. He only got fussy and little and then he went to sleep. He woke up of course, but the movie was almost over and he was fine.

Happy New Year!
We all went to church for New Years Eve, like we always do. We went to Zion Baptist Church of Ambler, Pa. To my surprise James stayed up all of the service except when Pastor Chapman was preaching. When the music would stop, he decided that would be his time to talk. I only had to leave once with him. He was such a good baby. He loved the music. James and I were so proud. He did not fall asleep on the way home (10 min ride and 10 min at Wawa). He ended up going to bed about 2 am. He woke up around 8 to eat and then slept until 11:30. I was glad because I was tired too. We later had New Years dinner at James and Marilyn's. It was nice to hang out. We watched TD Jakes movie Not Easily Broken.
*In the top pictures James is wearing Jay Jay batman mask. Obviously he does not like it too much!
