Sleep!

So, I think Jimmy would sleep best on his belly, and I decided to test out my theory this morning after his feeding. Well it worked, as soon as I laid him on his belly in his bassinet he went right to sleep. The only problem was I couldn't sleep because I was staring at him making sure he didn't suffocate. So, 15 minutes in I move him to his back and 5 minutes later Jimmy was up playing with his hands talking/wining.

4 Weeks

Jimmy is four weeks old today and what did we do to celebrate? Ummmm.... Oh yeah we went for a walk and he slept through a movie James and I watched. He is laying in one of his favorite positions on his daddy's chest! Our life is so exciting with him. We cannot believe it has been four weeks already.

Memorial Day

Okay, who holds Jimmy now? That is what if felt like as we traveled to Aunt Jo's house for Memorial Day 2009. Jaylen was the best, every so often he would come up to me and with a very concerned face say "where's the baby?" I would let him know he is okay and who he wa with and not to touch his hands. James enjoyed playing basketball with Brandon, (James won of course) while Jimmy and I just sat around inside the house. I think he was up a total of an hour the entire time we were there. I don't know what it is about him sleeping while we are out but that is what he does best.

Election Day

Today was the primary election so of course I felt the need to vote. It also happened to be the first day I took Jimmy for a walk. The sad thing is once I got everything together for our walk he was sleep. Oh well, he still received some vitamin D.

2 Weeks

Today Jimmy (the baby's nickname) was two weeks old. He celebrated his day with his mom-mom, Imani and Jay Jay. We went to the mall and had lunch. It was funny that in the car, both James' were asleep on the way home. Gee, I wish I could sleep so peacefully!

I'm gaining

Today was another doctor's appointment to make sure he is picking up enough weight. Since I could not drive, my mom had to take us. I could get used to be driven around. When the nurse weighed Jimmy, he was 7 lbs 6.9 oz. So, as you can read he picked up nicely. Doctor's hope babies are back to their birth weight at 2 weeks and he there a little before 2 weeks. YEAH!

My first outing

For my first trip out, James went to his mom-mom's house. He barely knew where he was, but he, of course, had a good time being spoiled, well really loved!

My first doctors appointment

James' first doctors appointment was today. We found out that his weight is now 6 lbs 14.5 oz. He is almost at his birth weight. He cried of course because they make you get naked and he definitely does not like that. We were not there very long, but James and I were so proud of the way he behaved.

My first bath

Internet Savvy already!

Today was the first day James saw his grandmom in Germany. He was able to see her via the internet. Gee what a tech savvy kid already.

Dr. Adolfo was my OB throughout my pregnancy. She is the one who made the final call that I needed a c-section.

My birthday!

James Ryan Coursey Jr. was born on May 1, 2009 at 6:58 am weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. Oh my he has big feet and long fingers. Daddy was able to cut the umbilical cord after he was born. James came out of the stomach crying. It was amazing 5 minutes on the table and a baby is in the world. I was out of it because they gave me morphine. When James showed me the baby I was amazed at how God allows this. Daddy was so happy, but we were both surprised that Baby James had a head full of hair. So we thought we would not need shampoo! James had very little trouble breastfeeding, I think I was more nervous as his mom than he. Baby James had the following people visit him on his birthday (Mom-Mom, Uncle James, Imani, Val, Kayla, Greg). He was such a good baby for his visitors.
