Bedding

James, Mom, and I went to get the bedding. Mom and I didn't like the bedding I actually picked out at Babies R Us, so we got Winnie the Pooh bedding at another store. We are so excited for him to actually see his room!

My Back!

Ughhhhh I decided to go to the gym and then to Babies R Us with mom and my back started bothering me. I don't know what is going on but it is only when I am walking around. As long as I sit, lay or stand no problems. Well 9 months officially today. 4 more week Lil Kicker!

Shower Take Two

This afternoon after work, my co-worker asked me to come over and look at some of her baby stuff. Of course, I wanted to go so I did. Well that was when my co-workers blessed us with another shower. We have been so blessed that I barely had to purchase anything. It is so nice to know that people love and want to be a blessing to our baby. One day he will read this and see how many people cared about him prior to seeing him in person.

Crib

Tonight James and I began to put the crib together, but ran into some problems. Needless to say we had to take the first crib back and were able to get another one. James put the second one up by himself I refused to help.

Last Test

Today, James and I had another doctors appointment with more weight gained! YEAH!!! I had my last test throughout the 40 weeks of pregnancy. The Group B Strep test is given around 36 weeks to test to see if I need to be on antibiotics during labor. I'm sure it will come back normal or negative. I don't go to the doctor until April 1st and that is when she will start checking to see if I've dilated.

Pediatrician

Today, I went to go see a pediatrician. Of course I was a little late, but it was okay because so were other parents. I was able to tour the office and meet one of the doctors. The most surprising thing I learned was that if you are breastfeeding (which I plan on) I have to see the doctor three days after I'm released from the hospital. All I could think was he'll be so little and we have to leave the house! I guess it's normal, but everything is new to us. They are the only practice we looked into, and I think I'm going to go with them. On doctor's request they even do Sunday appointments. How rare. Although I found out if you chose not to vaccinate your child they will not see him/her. I debated this issue, but ultimately it is God who is in control, so as stated in the Lion King 'hakuna matata' which means no worries.

SHOWER!!!

WOW! How blessed James and I are. Well, after all the anticipation, the day was here. We knew as soon as we pulled up to my Mom's house. There were cars all the way up the street. We walked in the house and saw family and friends galore. We played baby games to test our knowledge of how to take care of a newborn (we didn't do too badly- James does a lot of research). What surprised James the most was that there were men there. A co-ed shower was not expected, but everyone had a blast. The men won most of the games, especially when James joined the party! Our sister-in-law, Marilyn, was in charge of the games and had everyone laughing and joking around. Mom was up in the kitchen with all the other ladies getting the food together. What a meal! Ham, fried chicken, candied sweet potatoes, corn pudding, cole slaw, mac and cheese, green beans, rolls, 2 cakes! Too much, but little Kicker enjoyed every single bite. It was such a nice turnout, more than James and I ever expected (about 50 people). People blessed us with so many gifts that we could not take everything home, even in an SUV! The amazing thing is that we did not receive any duplicate gifts. James and I are overwhelmed with the love and support of our family and friends.

Classes Over!!!

Tonight was our last childbirth class. James and I decided to go although we didn't learn too much from it. I received another massage, so I guess it was all worth it!!!

Finished Baby Room

After running out of border twice, the room is complete. James hung the name letters the other day when he was off. Everything is coming together nicely (FINALLY). He will have a wonderful room to call home. About 6 1/2 more weeks until Baby Coursey arrives!

No Class

Tonight, James and I were supposed to go to our childbirth class, but he wasn't feeling well, so we stayed home. I guess working in the cold and shoveling yesterday was too much coldness for him. The baby and I said a prayer for his health!

March Snow Storm!!!

This morning we woke up to snow (about 5" maybe). It was a nice day to have off. James and I were able to put our living room and dining room back together after having the new floors put in! Later that day, James and I went to my mom's house and shoveled her out. We were joined by my brother James and his two kids: Imani and James III. They played while the men shoveled. I did not have to shovel it was so nice!!! I'm milking this!

Baby Room

This weekend James and I were able to almost complete the baby room. The theme is Winnie the Pooh. We did the top half of the room in yellow and the bottom half in blue. There is a Winnie the Pooh border that divides the room. The new carpet is in. We got a great deal from this guy James met at a job site! The only problem we ran into was once we started doing the border, we ran out! Twice! The second time, I was able to get more from the store. What a disaster, but it looks so cute. To be continued...
